Playing the bouzouki/mandola in DAEA tuning.
Chords for DAea tuning.
This page has all the information that is specific to the DAea bouzouki/mandola
tuning. This tuning is becoming quite popular as an alternative tuning for the
mandola, but also works (an octave lower, most likely) on a bouzouki.
The chord chart presented here for this tuning is merely a "quick & dirty"
translation job from the G,DAd chord chart - the intervals are the same, only
the note names are different, so I wrote a script to substitute the new note
names into the chords. I've checked some, but not nearly all of them, so please
let me know if you encounter any errors.
- Plain text:
- This gives per line the fingerings and corresponding note names, makes an
attempt to name the chord, and occasionally a remark on usage.
- PostScript:
- This gives chord diagrams for all the chords. Of course it does not contain
all the remarks and annotations that the text version has, but it's a lot
easier to read.
To use the PostScript file you either need a PostScript printer, or the
GhostScript software, which lets
you print PostScript on most other printers.
- Adobe .PDF format:
- For those who already have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, the chord diagram
files are now also available in
.PDF format (thanks to Bill McKenty for suggesting this).
