Some of you may know this one, as I played this on the first "Citterns on Ice" compilation: Out on the Ocean, a jig in G that is fairly popular in sessions. It's a simple
little tune, but you can dress it up in various ways.
An interesting way to vary the tune is to occasionally replace the first note of the A part by other notes of the root chord, so G or D (open courses). Let them sound underneath the melody to get a drone-like effect.
Another way to liven it up is of course the use of the occasional triplet.
