Johnny O'Leary.

Johnny O'Leary is one of the last surviving of the older generation of Sliabh Luachra (the area on the border of the Cos. Cork and Kerry) musicians, and he is an experienced player for dances. He has a vast repertoire of tunes typical for that area, many of which can be found in Terry Moylan's book "Johnny O'Leary of Sliabh Luachra". Johnny has always stuck to the "press & draw" style of box playing, and has always played Paolo Soprani boxes in C#/D tuning.

[I'm just back from this year's Willie Clancy Summer School in Miltown Malbay, where Johnny played for a dance dedicated to Kerry sets. He also spent a few afternoons playing in one of the local pubs.]
